I’m Derek R. Johnson, a professional voice actor with more than 10+ years of experience behind the mic.
My voice has been described as conversational, warm, confident, edgy, friendly, and relatable — but the quality I value most is believability. Whether I’m delivering a natural commercial read, telling a story, or stepping into an animated character, I want the performance to feel authentic and connected.
For me, great voice over is about more than having the right sound. It’s about understanding the story, finding the intention behind the words, and creating a performance that connects with the audience.
I’ve spent years training and continuing to develop my craft with some incredible coaches, expanding both my acting range and versatility behind the mic. That allows me to move comfortably between commercials, animation, character work, narration, video games, and more.
